Mixing It Up Vocabulary:
- system - a group of things or parts that work together.
- science - is a way of knowing and learning about the natural world and may not answer all questions.
- mass - the amount of matter in an object
- magnetism - the force of repulsion (pushing) or attraction (pulling) between poles of magnets
- solid - the state of matter that has a definite shape and definite volume
- liquid - the state of matter that has a definite volume but no definite shape

- float - to stay on top of a liquid or a gas

- melting point - the temperature at which a solid melts
- celsius - is a temperature scale. It is used to tell how hot or cold something is. It is often written as °C. Water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C
- mixtures - a combination of two or more substances that keep their own properties
- ingredients - a component of a mixture
- solutions - a mixture of two or more substances that are evenly distributed throughout
- dissolving - to mix completely with another substance to form a solution
- iron filings - are very small pieces of iron that look like a light powder.
- weight - the force of gravity on an object
- triple beam balance - a tool used to measure mass
- thermometer - a tool used to measure temperature in degrees
- scale - a tool used to compare the masses of two objects
- sieve - a tool used to separate substances
- evaporating - the process by which a liquid changes to a gas
- condensing - the process if a gas changing to a liquid as a result of cooling
